Company - swimming pool management company, located on the East Coast in the Mid-Atlantic
Position - Lifeguard - Must be able to: swim at least 100 yards without stopping using freestyle and breaststroke; perform a feet first surface dive to retrieve a 10 lb brick from 8+ feet of water and bring it to the surface; and tread water for 1 minute using legs only. Will be assigned a region and pool upon arrival. Responsible for constant, dedicated surveillance and monitoring of pools to prevent accidents. Will need to rescue swimmers in danger, test the chlorine levels, safely handle pool chemicals, clean the pool and pool area (including bathroom), and administer CPR/first aid as needed.

Housing and Transportation

Overview of housing situation - located in the area where you will work, basic furnished apartment or hotel with kitchen, you will be responsible to keep your unit clean
Housing Fees - housing rent per week is $140 - $175 depending on lacation
Additional Housing Fees - housing deposit $150, $100 of the housing deposit is refundable at the end of the season, if there are no damages left to the apartment and no rent/utilities owed
Housing Deposit Refund Policy - N/A
Transportation - you will walk, bike, bus or take public transportation to work each day

Employment Conditions

Confident English speaking skills for interacting with swimmers and pool patrons
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, will be exposed to heat and sun daily
Must pass Lifeguard Certification in your home country and re-test upon arrival
Must pass pool operator exam prior to or upon arrival
May not sleep or rest your eyes on duty. May not use a cell phone on duty
You will work a floating schedule created weekly for you by your staffer
Positive friendly, customer oriented attitude
Uniform – required and will be payroll deducted
Social Security Number - approximately seven days after you check into the program you will apply for a social security card, you will be able to work before you receive your card
