Housing Details

Temporary housing  is located at Bijou West, address below. Participants will share rooms with 1 -2 other J-1 participants of the same gender. Each participant will have his/her own bed. All rooms come equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave. A community kitchen and laundry facility ($3.00 per load) are available on-property as well. The cost for the first 25 days will be $400 USD and will be payroll deducted.

Participants will check-in at Bijou West Employee Housing Monday through Friday between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Participants arriving after 5:00 pm OR on the weekend should make their way to SCP Hotel until the next available check-in. The Broadmoor will arrange a 1-3 night stay depending on arrival date. The cost will be $59 per night and will also be payroll deducted.

Long term housing referrals provided.   2 Bedroom apartments, 4 people per apartment.  Estimated 2 miles distance from training site. Towels, sheets and pillows  are recommended items to bring. Grocery store, bank, restaurant, pharmacy are estimated 1 mile.  Long term apartment rent is an estimated $500 per month, average $500 deposit.  Some apartments offer utilities but not all, utilities can be shared with roommates.

Arrival

Strongly recommend that you fly into the Colorado Springs Airport.

Transportation from airport, recommended to take  taxi or a Gray Line shuttle to The BROADMOOR. If you intend to use Gray Line’s shuttle, you must make a reservation by email at grayline@coloradograyline.com or by calling 001-800-345-8197.

If you choose to fly into the Denver International Airport, you will need to secure your own transportation to your apartment, which is about 75 miles away. Transportation from Denver to Colorado Springs can be very costly, especially by tax).  There is also a public shuttle, you can visit their websites at www.coloradoshuttle.com or www.frontrangeshuttle.com for more information and to make reservations. *Gray Line services the Denver Airport on a seasonal basis. Please contact them for specific dates.

Plan to arrive by the Thursday prior to your start date prior to 5pm Mountain time.

Appearance standards

Uniforms provided with deposit required, refundable upon return of garment at the end of program.

Please bring or purchase black, closed toe non-slip shoes and black belt.

Grooming Standards: The Broadmoor believes an employee’s dress and grooming should be appropriate to our Five-Star, Five-Diamond environment. More details will be provided on this.
