Position - Candy Maker/Retail - Make fudge and other desserts as you sing and entertain the customers. Sell fudge, ice cream and other confections. All positions involve standing for the duration of your shift (8 – 10+ hours) plus cleaning with chemicals!

The Fudgery has 3 locations in North Carolina - Corolla, Duck and Nags Head - these are towns located in the  in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Nearest large city is Norfolk, VA 2 hours by car. No bus available. A small-town beach community combines all the best elements of a five star resort vacation, while still encompassing that laid-back Outer Banks style that embraces the beach life. With minimal development but lots of amenities. Enjoy all the dining, shopping, water sports.

Housing and Transportation

Overview of housing situation - located in one of two houses - basic home furnishings will be available
and each participant will have their own bed
Housing Fees - $170 per week; a housing deposit of $500 is due at time of flight booking and the first weeks rent will be due upon arrival
Housing Deposit Refund Policy - $425 of your housing deposit is eligible for return as long as the housing is left clean and free of damage, refunded 45-60 days after all students move out of housing, must work  original DS Dates to receive your deposit back
Transportation - The Fudgery will provide transportation to and from work

Must be able to stand, bend, lift up to 15kg and walk without difficulty, must be able to work with cleaning chemicals
Uniform - required and will cost approximately $24.00 for uniform shirt, must have black belt, black socks,
black pants, and black safety shoes
Grooming - must be presentable and clean
Social Security Number - approximately seven days after you check into the program you will apply for a social security card, you will be able to work before you receive your card

Weather - hot and humid during the day, warm and humid during the evening - temperatures range between 77 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit (25°-30° C).

Corolla - The most northern town in the Outer Banks, Corolla is home to miles of beautiful beaches, wild horses, fabulous  restaurants, a plethora of outdoor activities, and great golfing. With no commercial properties, Corolla is a wonderful and relaxing place to call home.

Duck - Duck is well known for its pet-friendly beach, waterfront shopping and dining, the Duck Jazz Festival, and the Soundside Boardwalk. Spend time browsing shops, getting out on the water, and enjoying delicious seafood.

Nags Head - Since its beginning in the 19th century, Nags Head has been the home to many single-family cottages and small hotels. This town in the Outer Banks is best known for Jockey’s Ridge State Park, fishing piers, historic and art districts, charter fishing, golf, Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve, walking and biking paths, and the Bodie Island Lighthouse.
